Class Description
Metaphysics is the study of the nonphysical, intangible aspects of life – in other words, the spiritual realm. Join us for this powerful class as we bring the original metaphysical teachings of Unity cofounder Charles Fillmore into the 21st century. We will explore such questions as, “What is the nature of God?” “What is the nature of humankind?” and “What is the nature of our relationship with God?” We will examine the language we use, and what it says about our spiritual beliefs, and incorporate current spiritual discoveries to fully realize our own innate power to create the life of our dreams.
The third phase in metaphysical study focuses on opening the way for greater expression of the student’s Divine Potential. To that end, students will be encouraged to investigate, analyze and use basic metaphysical tools for living. Students will:
- Identify the four functions of consciousness and give examples from their own lives
- Examine and interrelate the Word, thought/feeling, and denials and affirmations
- Identify and discuss each of the Twelve Powers and give examples
The required reading for this class is Heart-Centered Metaphysics, chapters 19-25, by Rev. Dr. Paul Hasselbeck which attendees are strongly encouraged to read since class experiences, discussions and practices are based on it.
This course is designed to meet the educational needs for Unity S.E.E. students, however, the class and experiences are designed for everyone and anyone interested in metaphysics.
