Sacred Story, Living Truth: Overview of Christian Scripture

Fridays, May 8 – June 5 • 6:00pm-8:00pm CST

If you’ve taken a Bible class before, good. This is not that. Even if you’ve taken classes on scripture before, few invite the honesty, complexity, and depth this one does.

This course explores Christian Scripture as a living archive of texts shaped by history, community, conflict, devotion, and interpretation. Rather than treating the Bible as a single unified voice, participants will examine how it was formed, how its texts differ, and why those differences matter.

Using historical inquiry, literary analysis, discussion, and contemporary scholarship, we will explore the Gospels, Pauline literature, women in early Christianity, and Revelation as symbolic resistance literature.

This may share a familiar title. It does not offer a familiar experience.

This course is designed to meet the educational needs for Unity S.E.E. students, however, the class and experiences are designed for everyone and anyone interested in Christian Scriptures.
