Course Description
There is nothing inherently wrong with self-care, we need it for survival. But it has often become that “one more thing to do” that we can check off on a list of many things we believe we must do, or “find time” to do. If we can check it off, then we have shown how productive we are, maybe demonstrate our worthiness. Join me to engage in a self-care class like no other you’ve experienced.
We live unconsciously in a world of separation and scarcity, whether we like to admit it or not. Self-care has become one more self-system designed to make us feel more inadequate and insecure. Self-care involves making choices that reflect a consciousness of well-being. As we become aware of the care of our mind, body and spirit, we discover that when we are our best self, we make contributions to our family, our communities and our world consciously.
This course will provide guidelines and action plans for instilling practices of self-care in the areas of awareness, mindfulness, setting boundaries, letting go, forgiveness and self-love. The class will be both reflective and interactive as we build self-awareness and share what works in applying self-care practices into daily life. We will identify how to use this foundation in times of stress and chaos as well.
There is no self that is separate, no care that is not collective, and no love that is conditional.
It’s time to take a dive into the myth of wellness we are swimming in when it come to our self-care practices. We will learn to decolonize our self-care in order to truly be our most noble selves, make contributions to our family, our communities and our world more consciously then ever before.
This course is designed to meet the educational needs for Unity S.E.E. students, however, the class and experiences are designed for everyone and anyone interested in self-care.
